ATOWA Restaurant is a unique restaurant found in White River, on the same grounds as Greenway Woods. ATOWA is a beautifully and interestingly styled Boma that is owned by visionary Chris Welthagen and is managed by experienced and renowned restaurant and hotel manager, Wayne Blake. ATOWA gains its style and inspiration from a restaurant, that first developed this style, located in Nairobi, Kenya, that was known to serve wild meats to it clientele. With this style and theme in mind, ATOWA gained its name, which is an Acronym meaning A Taste Of Wild Africa.
The unique dining experience at ATOWA certainly lives up to its name as the entire restaurant lives and breathes Africa, with traditional African décor and architecture as the building itself is designed to resemble a traditional Rondavel. When entering ATOWA, you are immediately welcomed by warm, traditional earthy colours as the furniture clearly embraces the traditional aesthetic. Beautiful wood carved furniture, earth coloured tile work, traditional art style table cloths and the thatched roof all add to the bushveld, African aesthetic and feel that ATOWA strives for.
ATOWA Restaurant strives to be unique in every way and that is clear in the aesthetic and feel of its interior. What makes ATOWA truly unique and makes it different from any restaurant in White River or any other restaurant in the area, is its unique Menu.
