Things to do close to White River
White River is not the biggest town. This means most of the things that you can do here are outside of the town, but luckily not so far away that you can’t make a day or a half day of the trip. If you are looking to pack your itinerary with a few things, you can add these to your list.
- Breakfast at Perry’s Bridge
A short drive from Greenway Woods is the village of Hazyview. It is about a scenic 45 minute drive away and on the main road of the town is Perry’s Bridge which is well known as a great place to stop for a scrumptious breakfast. There are a few places where you can have a meal here, so whatever you are in the mood for, you’ll find it here.
- A Kruger Drive
After breakfast, you can easily slip into the Kruger National Park. A 15 minute drive from Perry’s Bridge will take you into the Kruger National Park where you can spend the whole day exploring the southern area which is really well known for its abundant wildlife populations.
- Go Antiquing
White River is one of those towns with quite a few antique shops. You will find all sorts of exciting buys here.

If you are in town for a while, you might want to take a day trip to one of the attractions that are a bit further away.
- Historical Barberton Walk
About an hour away from White River is the ancient mining town of Barberton. The town is home to a historical walk, which will take you to all sorts of historical buildings and interesting attractions.
- A Beer in Sabie
Also about an hour away, the small village of Sabie is a great place for a craft beer. The town is up in the mountains and it has a real magical vibe about it that will have you coming back for more!
