Well, to start with, you have to go to Hazyview!
It’s a bit of a drive away, but the once small and insignificant town of Hazyview has really come into itself in the past few years and is today one of the best places to visit. It too lies on the outskirts of the Kruger National Park, but while that was once its only charm, the town has a lot to offer the travelling visitor. Especially those wanting to fill their day.
Hazyview has a lot to offer in terms of things to do. If you are looking for an action-packed adventure, you need look no further than this quaint town. A few of the things you can get up to include:
- Skyway Trails
Fancy zipping through the tops of an indigenous forest? Skyway Trails offer just this kind of once in a lifetime experience. This aerial cable trail is a one of a kind in this part of the world, and the trail follows the trees along the magnificent Sabie River. There is a variety of trail lengths available, so you can opt for a shorter trail or a longer experience. There are 10 platforms in total and the total length of the trail is 1.2km, making it the longest in Africa! They can accommodate up to 8 people per session and you’ll have to book your adventure before you head out.
- Walk with the elephants
What is coming to this part of South Africa worth without seeing the gorgeous animals? At Elephant Whispers, you can feed and touch elephants or even book a ride on one. The handlers are passionate about their charges, and they will teach you all about these humble, gentle giants. This is a truly rare opportunity and one that you should grab with both hands.
- Take a walk through the reptile park
Perry’s Bridge offers the perfect place to have lunch, grab a snack or enjoy a cup of coffee. It also has an interesting reptile park. Frogs, lizards, tortoises, snakes and even crocodiles can be seen while here. The park is open from morning to early evening, and there are daily demonstrations.
